How Meghan Markle Deals With Criticism, Hypocrisy Accusation A Month Before Return
Meghan Markle remains unfazed despite the criticisms she receives.
In the past weeks, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have faced an intense backlash for flying in private jets in their recent trips. According to an insider, Markle has no time to focus on the negative feedback about them. She has been working hard behind the scenes throughout her maternity leave.
“She’s moving on and riding above the storm,” a source told Vanity Fair. “She’s not wasting time or energy on the row over the private jets, instead she’s getting very excited about the new launch.”
Another insider said that as far as Markle is concerned, the issues they are facing today is just a “storm that will blow over.” The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly more “focused on bigger things right now.” Markle is reportedly “raring to go” as she prepares for her return to royal duties next month.
Just recently, royal commentator Carole Malone said that Prince Harry and Markle’s credentials as “eco-warriors are shot now.” She called the couple to stop lecturing them about the environment because they do not practice what they preach.
“You can’t lecture us and the rest of the world on climate change when you are taking private planes everywhere,” Malone said on “Jeremy Vine.”
“This was their fourth private flight in 11 days. This is just rich people justifying their excesses and it’s shameful.”
In related news, Prince William and Kate Middleton flew to Balmoral on Thursday to join Queen Elizabeth II for her summer break. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge boarded a commercial flight amid the jet-gate scandal that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are facing.
However, the netizens reacted and said that what the Cambridges did was just a PR stunt. Royal expert Marlene Koenig agreed that it was just a PR stunt.
“I have no doubt that a) they were advised to fly commercial or b) that William decided that this would look good for he and his family, when in fact, it smacks a PR effort that is backfiring,” Koenig said.
Prince Harry and Markle will not be joining Prince William and Middleton in Balmoral this weekend. According to an insider, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would wait until next month before they fly to Scotland.
