How Much Money Did ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Winner Bobby Bones Get? Pay Revealed
Bobby Bones is getting more than just a Mirror Ball trophy. Monday night saw the Season 27 finale of ABC’s long-running competition series “Dancing With the Stars.” After a season full of performances, radio personality Bobby Bones ultimately sashayed his way to a victory, earning first-place alongside partner Sharna Burgess. Bones can also expect a hefty paycheck in his future.
It has long been reported that winners of “Dancing With the Stars” will earn roughly $345,000 to $360,000. That number, however, is also the same for the other finalists, meaning Bones’ other competitors, model Alexis Ren, actress Evanna Lynch, and actor Milo Manheim, will likely all get the same amount of money for their participation this season.
The pay for “Dancing With the Stars” is reportedly broken down on a sliding scale. Stars that agree to compete on the show are given a $125,000 signing bonus, according to a 2010 report from Gawker. From there, the celebrities are paid based on how many weeks they can remain on the show without being voted off. This system results in the finalists earning the same amount as the winner.
Bones joined a long list of “DWTS” winners during Monday’s conclusion, though, he didn’t think he and his partner were shoe-ins for the prize during one of their final performances. “It actually wasn’t bad for me. It wasn’t like I was going, 'Oh my Gosh, oh my Gosh.’” Bones, 38, told USA Today. “Because I just didn’t think I was going to win.”
Despite earning lower scores from the judges than his fellow competitors during the finals, Bones went on to secure the victory, a victory he says is due to his loving fans. “I’m so thankful to my people. They won it,” Bones said.
Bones, understandably, was also grateful for his partner, Burgess. “I’m so thankful for her people because without the people we wouldn’t be here. Without Sharna I wouldn’t be here! I know my place in this and I don’t get it twisted one bit!” he told People Magazine.
