Prince Charles kept his grandchildren Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis entertained during his birthday photoshoot.

Last week, the Prince of Wales celebrated his 70th birthday. Clarence House released the official birthday photos of the future king featuring him, his wife Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for the occasion. Of course, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's three children were present too.

According to Chris Jackson, the future monarch was very hands-on when it came to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The royal photographer shared what happened during the pictorial.

"He is a very hands-on grandfather. He was holding hands with George and Charlotte, and bouncing Louis up and down for a long time," Jackson told Sunday Times. "George was very happy on the prince's knee. They have a great relationship that's a little more established, as George is a bit older."

Jackson also revealed that the photo session was "the happiest I have seen [Charles]." He also noted that the whole situation was a "lovely chaos."

The royals' pictorial with Jackson was informal. He also observed how Prince Charles takes pride with his sons' success. "This is someone with a sense of pride for his family," Jackson added. "A sense of pride in what his children are achieving."

Jackson also noted one photo with Prince Charles sitting on a chair with folders on his knees. According to him, it's one of his favorite photos from the session.

"I love that, it's one of my favourites," he said about the photo. "It sums up the Prince of Wales. He has an amazing ability to work in any sort of environment."

In the photos, Prince Charles looked happy. However, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were noticeably missing. It remains unknown why Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh were not in the photos.

In related news, the Duchess of Cornwall has finally received the royals' seal of approval. In Prince Charles' official birthday photos, she appeared to have established her place in the family.

In addition, Queen Elizabeth II also recognized her influence in the future king's life when Her Majesty gave a toast for Prince Charles. "Most of all, sustained by his wife Camilla, he is his own man, passionate and creative," the monarch said.
