How Prince Charles Triggered Princess Diana’s Abandonment Issues, Made Her 5-Year-Old Again

Prince Charles reportedly triggered Princess Diana’s feelings of abandonment and made her act like a 5-year-old again.

While speaking with Daily Mail, astrologer Debbie Frank said that the Princess of Wales told her that she loved Prince Charles until her dying day. And if she were given the chance, she would redo her marriage to the future king. But despite Princess Diana’s feelings towards Prince Charles and their marriage, Frank said that the late royal didn’t really long for the heir to the throne.

“I think she’d managed to get some distance. But there was still that wound like there was with her mother… And it was probably more about the mother than Charles actually… When he triggered that feeling of abandonment in her, she became like a 5-year-old again,” she said.

But while Princess Diana was still married to Prince Charles, things were not always peaceful between them. In fact, before the couple divorced, the heir to the throne reportedly forbade his wife from attending royal engagements with him.

During her interview with Martin Bashir with Panorama in 1995, Princess Diana said that she was left with no other choice when Prince Charles decided that they should attend separate engagements.

“It made it very difficult, because for a situation where it was a couple working in the same job – we got out the same car, we shook the same hand, my husband did the speeches, I did the handshaking. So, basically, we were a married couple doing the same job, which is very difficult for anyone and more so if you’ve got all the attention on you,” she said.

Princess Diana also said that being asked to hold separate engagements was a bit sad for her because she quite liked his company. But she was still left with no other choice but to follow Prince Charles’ lead.

Prince Charles and Princess Diana divorced in 1996 after a 15-year marriage.
