How Princes William, Harry’s Feelings For Each Other Ended The ‘Stiff-Upper-Lip’ Approach
Prince William and Prince Harry used to be very close. In fact, the Duke of Sussex previously revealed that he and his older brother usually hug each other after not seeing each other over long periods of time.
In the book “Harry: Conversations With the Prince,” royal author Angela Levin spoke with Prince Harry about his special bond with the second in line to the throne. Meghan Markle’s husband said that Prince William is the one person that he can talk to about anything, and they also understand each other.
“The physical warmth they originally learned from their mother had not only become part of their brotherly relationship but was also steering them to a much more emotionally led approach to life. Although they may not have realized it at the time, their feelings for each other marked the beginning of the end of a stiff-upper-lip approach to life,” she said.
But in recent months, it seems that Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship has deteriorated. The royal siblings who used to talk to each other regularly are currently on different paths.
Markle’s husband also revealed that he no longer gets to spend time with Prince William as much as he used to. And there are rumors that the royal siblings started feuding after the Duke of Cambridge questioned Prince Harry’s decision to marry the Duchess of Sussex.
On the “Royals” podcast, royal commentator Angela Mollard said that Prince William cannot be blamed for showing his concern towards his younger brother. After all, he just wanted Prince Harry to be sure about his decision to settle down.
“So, I think it’s pretty obvious what happened, William who spent a long time deciding that he was going to marry Kate because he knew how important it is to this institution and to his concept of duty. Which possibly he upholds as the second most dutiful member of the Royal Family on paper, after the Queen, I think. he wants a clean copybook to go into the role that he will eventually inherit,” Mollard said.
