How Princess Diana’s Royal Family Feud Affected Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton’s Relationship
Although Meghan Markle has never met Princess Diana, a new report is claiming the former “Suits” star is trying to become the modern version of Prince Harry’s late mother.
Months after the Duchess of Sussex married Harry and announced she was pregnant with their first child, rumors began to circulate suggesting Meghan has been feuding with her sister-in-law Kate Middleton.
Although the women have not acknowledged the feud, Princess Diana’s biographer, Andrew Morton, reportedly suggested Meghan’s rumored feud with Kate is just a step in her plan to become “Princess Diana 2.0.”
While the Express UK noted that Prince Harry and Meghan knew little about one another until they met, Morton suspects Markle is a “social climber” and using the “feud” with Kate to her advantage.
Diana reportedly “fell out with friends and members of her family such as her father, her mother and her brother,” and Meghan’s rift with her family and Kate appears to mirror the past.
“According to family friends, she was intrigued by Diana, not just for her style but for her independent humanitarian mission, seeing her as a role model,” Morton said of Meghan.
However, Jessica Jayne, author of “Prince Charles Biography: The Prince of Wales and the Future King of England,” noted Meghan appears to be focused on mimicking Diana’s previously criticized behavior.
Past critics suggest Diana was “unstable and temperamental and she apparently sacked Charles’ longstanding staff members.” Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex is rumored to be the reason why Prince Harry’s private secretary, Samantha Cohen will be leaving her position in the spring.
Kensington Palace has not acknowledged reports regarding present and past rumored feuds among the royal family.
