How Sarah Ferguson Felt Caught Between Princess Anne, Princess Diana Amid Harsh Criticism
Sarah Ferguson struggled to find her niche in the royal family shortly after marrying Prince Andrew and joining the British clan.
In the book “Sarah: HRH The Duchess of York,” royal author Ingrid Seward said that the mom of two faced harsh criticism shortly after her royal wedding and was also accused of being a parasite. The branding deeply upset Ferguson.
During her conversation with Seward, Prince Andrew’s ex-wife asked the royal expert what she could do so that the public wouldn’t see her like a parasite. Ferguson also said that Prince Andrew advised her to not take notice, but he was not always physically present because he was away on his ship.
At one point, Ferguson asked her equerry to speak to Princess Anne’s private secretary in an attempt to know if the royal had any tasks that she has not yet accomplished. Ferguson wanted to step in while finding her niche in the royal family.
Ferguson’s struggles didn’t end there. It didn’t take her long to realize that she was the only had who didn’t know her place, and she also felt caught between Princess Anne and Princess Diana.
“Anne has the third world and Diana has the birthright. I need to be involved too,” Fergie said.
Back in the day, Ferguson’s ambition was to find a niche for herself in the working scope available to the members of Queen Elizabeth II’s family. Unfortunately, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s mom didn’t have much time to do her royal duties.
The Duchess of York separated from Prince Andrew just six years after they tied the knot. Their divorce was finalized in 1996. While the ex-couple was still married to each other, Ferguson made headlines after she was photographed in a compromising position with a famed businessman.
Ferguson’s toe-sucking scandal made frontpage news, and it angered Prince Philip.
