‘How To Train Your Dragon 3’ Release Date Delayed Again, When Will The Movie Hit Theatres?
It will be a long time before we see the antics of Hiccup and his faithful dragon Toothless.
The release date of “How To Train Your Dragon 3,” which is a sequel to “How To Train Your Dragon 2,” will be released on March 1, 2019.
The third installment of the franchise, which was first supposed to be released on June 18, 2016, has been delayed a third time. Produced by Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation, the film got delayed to May 18, 2018. Now it has been pushed back to 2019, according to Entertainment Weekly.
“How To Train Your Dragon 3” will be written and directed by Dean DeBlois who also helmed the previous two movies. It will be produced by Bonnie Arnold and DeBlois and Chris Sanders will serve as executive producers.
Interestingly, the plot of the upcoming “HTTYD” movie sees young Viking leader Hiccup (voice of Jay Baruchel) facing a test of leadership. Simultaneously in the plot, Toothless will discover an untamed and elusive mate. What many fans of the franchise don’t know is that plot of these movies has been inspired by a series of books of the same name written by English children’s author, Cressida Cowell.
“How To Train Your Dragon 3” stars Gerard Butler as Stoick, Hiccup’s father, Craig Ferguson as Gobber, America Ferrera as Astrid, Jonah Hill as Snotlout Jorgenson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Fishlegs, T.J. Miller as Tuffnut Thorstonand, Kristen Wiig as Ruffnut Thorston and Cate Blanchett as Valka.
The first movie saw Hiccup, the scrawny yet intelligent son of a Viking Chieftain, learn that dragons aren’t sworn enemies of humans. In fact, they can be easily trained and make loyal companions. In the second movie, which was released in 2014, Hiccup and Toothless discovered an ice cave that housed hundreds of new and wild dragons.
