How Zara Tindall Laughed Off ‘Royal Rebel’ Allegations With This Witty Remark
Zara Tindall previously laughed off allegations that she’s a royal rebel with a witty remark.
While speaking with Tatler in 2011, Tindall was asked to comment on her image as a royal rebel, which first came to light when she was just a teenager. At the age of 17, Tindall was photographed with a tongue piercing.
Instead of being offended, Tindall said that she has changed so much in recent years especially after she married her husband, Mike Tindall. Instead of being a royal rebel, she also said that she’s more likely to be found cooking spaghetti Bolognese for her family.
“At least I didn’t have it coming out of my nose or anything,” she said about her tongue piercing.
In the 2013 Netflix documentary “The Royals,” royal author Phil Dampier also talked about Tindall’s rebellious past. He said that Tindall first showed off her tongue piercing at her uncle Prince Charles’ 50th birthday celebration.
“When she had her tongue stud put in, I think it came on the back of some other publicity she had had prior to that where she had few punch-ups with her then-boyfriend, who was a jockey. They got involved in a few scuffles in the streets… She was getting an image, which was either deserved or underserved,” he said.
During a previous interview, Tindall also said that her mom, Princess Anne, didn’t seem to have any problem with her tongue piercing. In fact, there were also rumors suggesting that Tindall had a belly button piercing years ago.
In related news, Tindall also made headlines this week after it was reported that Queen Elizabeth II is much closer to her and her husband than she is with Kate Middleton and Prince William.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward to The Sun that the Queen likes to be around the Tindall because they seem to be more normal than the Cambridges. The Queen and Tindall also have a lot of things in common, most especially their love for horses.
