Howard Stern Praised On Twitter After Slamming Unvaccinated ‘Imbeciles’ For Overwhelming Hospitals
Radio talk show host Howard Stern is receiving praise on Twitter after ranting about people who have refused to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
On Tuesday, Stern vented to listeners on his SiriusXM program about his frustrations regarding those people who remain unvaccinated against coronavirus.
“When are we going to stop putting up with the idiots in this country and just say it’s mandatory to get vaccinated?” he said. “As I remember, when I went to school, you had to get a measles vaccine. You had to get a mumps vaccine,” Stern said.
Stern went on to refer to people against the vaccine as “imbeciles” and slammed individuals for overwhelming hospitals across the country.
“The other thing I hate is that all these people with COVID who won’t get vaccinated are in the hospitals clogging it up,” he said.
“So like, if you have a heart attack or any kind of problem, you can’t even get into the E.R. And I’m really of mind to say, ‘Look, if you didn’t get vaccinated [and] you got COVID, you don’t get into a hospital.’”
On Thursday, Stern’s name became a trending topic on Twitter with people praising him for his views on the COVID-19 vaccine.
“Howard Stern is freaking awesome, and I fully respect him!!! He’s truly the king of radio and the only one I listen too!!!! Thank you @HowardStern for speaking out and supporting vaccines!! #HowardStern,” one person wrote.
Another person stated Stern's COVID-19 jab opinions reflect those of "most vaccinated people," writing, “The time for begging you to get the vaccine is over. You want to fly? Sorry. You want to go to this concert? Sorry. You want to attend school? Sorry. Medical exemption? Fine, but otherwise you are a 21st Century leper.”
While a majority of the responses to Stern's comments appear to be in his favor on the social media platform, not everyone agrees with his stance.
During his rant, Stern also expressed his desire to regain a sense of normalcy amid the pandemic. However, he condemned those who consider vaccination mandates a violation of their rights.
“I want my freedom to live,” Stern explained. “I want to get out of the house. I want to go next door and play chess. I want to go take some pictures.”
On Thursday evening, President Joe Biden is expected to lay out a new plan to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
