The HTC One (M9) smartphone was unveiled Sunday at HTC’s Utopia In Progress press event in Barcelona, Spain. The event preceded the World Mobile Congress, which begins Monday.

The third-generation device blends the antenna technology of the HTC One (M7), which allows the device to be made almost completely of metal, with the seamless unibody design of the HTC One (M8), said HTC CEO Peter Chou.

Check out the preliminary details of the new handset:

-- Dual-tone hairline and mirror finish

-- BoomSound speakers with 5.1 surround sound developed by Dolbly

-- Sense 7 user interface

The HTC One M9 will be available in mid-March in several markets, including the U.S. and Asia-Pacific region.
