Chinese mobile giant Huawei recently unveiled a new mid-range smartphone, introducing the Huawei Y9s. This new mobile device is a rebrand of the Honor 9X Pro released previously.

In the device's product page, Huawei listed six different reasons why users should buy the new Y9s.

On top of the list is the 6.59-inch Ultra FullView Display with a 91% screen-to-body ratio. Without the notch, it boasts of a bigger and wider total display size. The 2340 x 1080 Full HD resolution makes it good for watching videos and gaming.

A fingerprint sensor is placed in the same button as the power button with an unlocking speed of as fast as 0.3 seconds.

Next on the list of reasons to buy the Y9s is its 48 megapixels Triple Camera setup. The main camera works with an AI photo-capturing algorithm supported by an 8-megapixel lens for ultra-wide-angle shooting. The third camera has a 2-megapixel lens for bokeh and close-up shots. The camera also boasts of giving excellent night shots making low-light photos look better.

The screen does not have any notch for the front camera because the device has a 16 megapixels Auto Selfie Pop-up mechanism that reveals itself whenever you need it and automatically retracts after use.

As for what’s inside, it runs on a Kirin 710F chipset powered by 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. This is expandable with a microSD card of up to 512 GB worth. The Y9s runs on Huawei’s EMUI 9.1 on top of Android Pie 9.0.

The device has an initial price of $239 with early bird freebies worth $99. Meanwhile, Huawei has yet to announce specific release dates for their new mid-range smartphone and on what regions it will release.
