Huge Nintendo Switch Leak Could Be Bad News For 'BOTW 2' Fans
KEY POINTS
- Nintendo is rumored to release a new gaming console
- Rumors have it that Switch Pro might feature "BOTW 2" as one of its launch titles
- 17 games are reportedly coming to Nintendo Switch, says a new leak
A massive Nintendo Switch leak revealed 17 upcoming titles are reportedly releasing on the hybrid gaming console. It is, however, unknown if these games would end up on Switch, Switch Lite, or the rumored Switch Pro. If this leak is accurate, it is one of the most prominent Nintendo leaks in years, but it also brings bad news for hopeful "The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of the Wild 2" fans.
The latest information about the upcoming Nintendo games comes from Twitter user Eclipse. The insider claims that games like "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot," "Dark Souls 2 Remastered," "Tales of Destiny 2," and a "Zelda" game most likely "Time of Majora's Mask or" Ocarina" will get remaster or Switch ports. The insider also claims that titles like "Fossil Fighters," the Sonic game, "TimeSplitters" and a Virtual Boy title will see a Nintendo Switch remake.
That's not all; the insider also reveals several brand new games coming to the hybrid gaming console between 2021 and 2022. This includes a new "Wario Ware," a new "Mario Strikers," a "Metroid 2D" side-scrolled, a new "Radiant Historia" and a Sonic spin-off. Unfortunately, "The Breath of the Wild 2 (BOTW 2)" is not mentioned in the leak.
During the Nintendo Direct event last February, Nintendo said that updates on "BOTW 2" would be made available in the latter part of the year. Fans are hopeful that the next event could showcase "BOTW 2" and even offer its release date. However, if the leak is anything to go by, it looks like the much-awaited sequel is still a few years away.
Apart from those, the insider mentions three games coming to Nintendo Switch. This time, however, the insider asks fans to take this information with a pinch of salt. These games include a Mii game, which is similar to "Guitar Hero," a reboot of the fan-favorite title "Earthbound" and more "Ring Fit Adventure" games.
Unfortunately, the insider does not offer any source or proof to back the claim. In this case, fans should temper their expectations and take the latest leak, like all other leaks, with a hefty amount of salt.
"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" is currently in development.
