Hugh Jackman Teases Wolverine Halloween Costume
Hugh Jackman may not have hung up Wolverine’s claws for good. The actor revealed that he just might be Logan again — for Halloween.
The “Logan” actor was shopping for Halloween costumes when he came across a suit for the X-Men character. Unlike Jackman’s movie costumes, this is the yellow and blue suit with a facemask. Jackman’s Wolverine was typically in jeans and a leather jacket in the movies, which may have disappointed some comic book purists.
“Just maybe I will finally wear blue and yellow spandex for my #halloweencostume,” Jackman wrote. He took a selfie with the bagged costume.
Unfortunately, it might not be in his size. The actor added the hashtag “#tootall” to the post. The yellow suit might not be made for his 6’2’’ frame.
The Australian actor played Wolverine for the final time in this year’s “Logan.” The R-rated flick earned over $616 million at the box office worldwide, and there are reports that 20th Century Fox is trying to push the film into the Oscars.
However, Jackman is already thinking ahead to when the movies decide to recast him. He was a replacement for Dougray Scott, who had to back out of 2000’s “X-Men” when another film’s shoot was extended. Jackman recently recalled how nice Scott was about the situation, and he hopes to emulate the actor’s attitude someday.
“I met him early on and I said to him, ‘Man, I am sorry.’ And he said, ‘It’s just business, but you have just gotten one of the greatest roles out there, so go crush it,’” Jackman told the Hollywood Reporter. “I just remember being so impressed by that and his class, and hopefully I am a big enough guy that when someone else takes over, I will do exactly what was done to me…and I feel glad to just be a part of the legacy of that character. I feel great parts — great characters out live the actors that play them. Bond, Superman, Batman…so, there you go.”
Wolverine hasn’t been recast yet, and it will likely be a little while before the “X-Men” movies bring Logan back into the story. However, his clone might be on the big screen within the next few years. Laura’s (Dafne Keen) creator Craig Kyle and “Logan” director James Mangold are working on a treatment for a possible X-23 movie.
