After seeing the rising number of COVID-19 cases, Hugh Jackman has decided to temporarily close his café in New York City. The actor locked the doors for the public to prevent the spread of the virus that has taken thousands of lives globally.
The “Logan” star confirmed the news on Instagram and shared that his café, Laughing Man, will remain shut until the situation gets better for the public to come out of their houses. The esteemed actor further stated that it was the “right thing” to do in order to stop people from organizing large gatherings.
He also feels that the decision will help in preventing the “risk” of spreading the disease. The “X-Men” star also explained that he did not want to operate a place that could be a potential danger to the public.
“We have made the decision to temporarily close the @laughingmancafe. We feel this is the best course of action to ensure the safety of our staff and community. We also feel it is the right thing for the larger community of NYC,” Jackman said.
The 51-year-old actor also encouraged his followers to help those who are in need and remain indoors so that the virus could be contained. Jackman also noted that he and the café will look for other ways to “serve” people in the coming days.
“This is a time when we find new depths to our motto ALL BE HAPPY and hope, more than ever, for it to help guide humanity. Let us take care of each other the best we can. We wish the whole world health, peace, patience, and love. #allbehappy (sic)” Jackman said.
The Laughing Man was established by Jackman in 2011. The star opened the place for the farmers to sell their goods in the U.S.
