Hulk Hogan Settles Sex Tape Suit With Bubba The Love Sponge; Gawker, Heather Clem Lawsuits Pending
Hulk Hogan settled his sex tape lawsuit Monday with ex-best friend Bubba “The Love Sponge” Clem.
Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, is one of the most famous wrestlers in the history of World Wrestling Entertainment. He sued Bubba Clem after a sex tape featuring Hogan, 59, and Clem’s ex-wife, Heather Clem, leaked on the gossip website Gawker.
A representative for Hogan said the terms of the settlement are confidential, according to the Associated Press.
Hogan admitted to engaging in sex with Heather Clem but claimed he was unaware that their sexual encounter was being filmed.
Bubba said he believes his former best friend.
“It is my belief that Hulk is not involved, and has not ever been involved, in trying to release the video, or exploit it, or otherwise gain from the video’s release in any way…[I am] committed to helping Hulk and his attorneys find whoever is responsible for the release of the tape,” he said in a statement, according to VH1.
The former wrestler also filed a $100 million lawsuit against Gawker, for showcasing the sex tape. That lawsuit, as well as another action against Heather Clem, is still pending, according to the AP.
Hogan initially believed Bubba was not behind the sex tape but changed his mind and filed the lawsuit.
The sex tape was filmed when Hogan was still married to his now ex-wife, Linda The couple split in 2007.
Although it’s unknown who was behind the leaked sex tape, one rumor circulating as to who is the culprit.
A disgruntled employee of the DJ allegedly leaked the sex tape, which Bubba shared with his former staff before leaving Sirius XM radio, according to Radar Online.
“Even though Bubba knew how much the Hulk sex tape would be worth, he didn't stab his friend in the back and he's not the one who released it," a source told the gossip website. "It's a former employee of Bubba's who was outraged when he left Sirius to go back to terrestrial radio. He wanted payback."
