Human Rights Lawyer Amal Clooney To Speak At Women World Changers Summit In October
Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney is scheduled to visit Sydney and speak at the Women World Changers Summit at The Star hotel on Oct. 12. For a meet and greet with the lawyer, a VIP fee of $2,200 is being charged, while $1,100 is the price for a regular seat in the audience.
According to the organizers, Amal will "encourage women to push themselves and put themselves forward to take on difficult and challenging jobs in non-traditional careers." The conference is backed by Karen Beattie, who brought George Clooney, Amal's Hollywood heartthrob husband, to Australia for a conference five years ago. It is not known whether George, 55, will join her at the conference.
Other speakers participating in the conference include activist Wendy McCarthy, G20 Youth Summit chairperson Holly Ransom and Mirvac director Christine Bartlett.
Amal will also speak at the conference in Melbourne on Oct. 10. VIP tickets to meet the stylish lawyer would cost $2,200 for a table of 10, and will include a meet and greet, a photograph with Amal as well as a two course meal, reserved seating, refreshments and conference material.
The exclusive package is available only for the first 100 buyers who will meet Amal at a networking lunch before she delivers her speech. Tickets to hear the lawyer deliver her 15-minute speech, to be followed by a 45-minute Q&A, are priced at $1,100. Amal will reportedly talk about her journey in life and “what it takes to choose the more challenging path, the path with the most question marks and uncertainties, and the determination to stay the course,” according to Daily Mail.
Earlier in the year, Amal visited the United Arab Emirates and spoke at the fifth edition of the annual International Government Communication Forum in Sharjah on March 20. She also participated in the India Today Conclave in New Delhi the same month. The British-Lebanese lawyer will also speak at The Texas Conference for Women at the Austin Convention Center on Nov. 15.
