'Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2' Trailer Gets Official Release Date; Check Out A Sneak Peek
Lionsgate Entertainment released a short clip from the highly anticipated film "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" on Friday. Fans have been scrambling for details since the film was first announced. Not only does the teaser give viewers an idea of what to expect, it also reveals when they'll see the full-length trailer.
The newly released clip may be only 14 seconds long, but it packs a serious punch. Viewers get a glimpse at what the franchise's heroine, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), is up against. The clip also reveals that Lionsgate has plans to release a second official trailer on Friday, July 24.
The first trailer for the film was released last month. The video kicks off with a celebration as Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin) and Annie Crestra (Stef Dawson) tie the knot. Unfortunately, things quickly turn dark as Katniss prepares to head into battle. She and her supporters band together to take on the Capitol, but it won't be easy.
While little is known about the film, fans were able to pick up a few vital tidbits during San Diego Comic-Con. On July 9, the cast of "The Hunger Games" sat down for a panel discussion during which they discussed a few important plot details, how the writers and directors have tried to stay true to the Suzanne Collins books and a few special behind-the-scenes details. It was revealed that Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Gale (Liam Hemsworth) will face one another, yet again, in the upcoming film. Director Francis Lawrence also assured fans that the feature will be as close as possible to the popular novel, the third in Collins' series.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" is slated to be released in theaters in November. Check out the short teaser below.
