Nicaragua's Atlantic coast was hit by hurricane Ida on Thursday forcing more than 2,000 to flee their homes, the Associated Press reported.

The hurricane damaged schools caused bridges to collapse with winds of 75 miles per hour.

No deaths or injuries have been reported.
