Hurricane Irene Leaves Behind Trial of Death and Destruction in East Coast (PHOTOS)
Hurricane Irene attacks New York Sunday morning, whipping in the east coast with its scary wrath--powerful swirl of wind, heavy rain and strong wave.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has announced mass mandatory evacuation in some areas for the first time. Over 2 million people have moved to safer places. The transit system in New York City has been shut down even as states from the Carolinas to Maine declared emergencies due to Irene.
So far over 3 million people are out of power in east coast. At least 11 deaths confirmed, including died in a car accident, by heart attack and by falling trees etc. because of the natural disaster, according to the officials.
