Hyundai Super Bowl 2014 Ads Showcase Family Humor, 'The Big Bang Theory' And Special Effect Explosions In New Commercials [VIDEO]
Hyundai unveiled two new ads on Monday that mix family humor and special effect explosion punctuated flirting.
“Dad’s Sixth Sense,” features several short clips of a father intervening for his son and saving him from near accidents. The events happen as his child is growing up with potential accidents ranging from getting kicked by a child on the swings, to nearly avoiding crashing into a hot grill while trying to catch a football. As the son gets older, he's seen driving carefully, until he takes his eyes off the road as the attention of a girl distracts him. Queue the introduction of the 2015 Hyundai Genesis’ automatic emergency braking, or AEB, which saves the son from crashing into another car as it’s backing out.
“Remember when only dad could save the day,” an unseen announcer asks as the commercial introduces automatic emergency braking along with the 2015 Hyundai Genesis.
The second Hyundai ad that will air at Super Bowl XLVIII takes a more over-the-top approach with explosions and comedy. “The Big Bang Theory” star Johnny Galecki (Leonard) is seen flirting with another Elantra driver as special effect explosions, Richard Lewis (“Robin Hood: Men in Tights”) and rings of fire punctuate their conversation.
Hyundai’s own California-based Innocean produced the two 2014 Hyundai commercials which will air at Super Bowl XLVIII on February 2nd.
