‘I Am Cait’: Caitlyn Jenner Reveals The Real Reason She Decided To Document Her ‘Journey’ In Latest Promo Clip
Caitlyn Jenner is preparing to give viewers a look at what her daily life is like now that she is living publicly as a woman. The 65-year-old introduced herself to the world June 1 on the cover of Vanity Fair. E! has released yet another touching promo video for her series, “I Am Cait,” which is guaranteed to move you.
In the short clip Jenner discusses her decision to share her “journey” with the world, saying she really just wanted to tell her story. The former Olympian hopes the series will provide perspective for people who don’t necessarily understand what it means to be transgender and the difficulties faced by members of the LGBT community who are unable to live as their true selves, saying, “We’re going to do some good.” Jenner also plans to have a lot of fun in “I Am Cait,” revealing that viewers will get to tag along as she experiences shopping for women’s clothes for the first time. She even promised she’d be doing “some boy stuff,” like riding motorcycles “because girls do that too!”
This is the second preview for the show. In the first Jenner sat at her makeup table, showing off newly learned tricks and techniques. She happily shared with viewers that she had recently had a makeup artist come to her Malibu home to help her nail down her look. The video also showed Jenner taking one of her first trips off of her property. During the ride she discussed with the others in the car her wish to one day “just blend into society.”
Days prior to the show’s July 26 premiere date Jenner is slated to accept the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2015 ESPY Awards. The popular award show will be her first public appearance as a female. Not long after it was announced that she had been chosen as the winner of the highly coveted award, Jenner shared an Instagram post detailing her excitement.
“I Am Cait” will air Sundays at 9 p.m. EDT on E! Check out the latest promotional video for the series below.
