'I Am Cait' E! Docuseries Premiere To Feature Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Meeting Caitlyn Jenner For The First Time
Kanye West may finally be ready to keep up with the Kardahsians – sort of, anyway. The 38-year-old has made it no secret that he wants nothing to do with wife Kim Kardashian’s family reality show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” but that doesn’t mean he’s sworn off family spinoffs. The rapper is slated to make an appearance on Caitlyn Jenner’s docuseries, “I Am Cait.”
According to E! Online the network’s cameras were around for Kim and Kanye’s first introductions to Caitlyn. The site reports that the couple popped over to the 65-year-old’s Malibu home unexpectedly at which time the three shared an emotional moment. After the initial shock wore off Kim couldn’t stop gushing over Caitlyn’s appearance. “You literally look like Kendall. Like Kendall’s mom,” she told her. Kanye, on the other hand, chose to focus on her strength.
"I think this is one of the strongest things that have happened in our existence as human beings, that are so controlled by perception," he said. "You couldn't have been up against more."
In a private confessional interview Caitlyn admitted that she and Kanye hadn’t grown very close since he joined their family. Still, the former Olympian said she has appreciated his “open mindedness” throughout her transition. As you may recall, during E!’s “About Bruce” special Caitlyn, who was still going by Bruce at the time, revealed that it was Kanye that got Kim to change her perspective on her transition.
This won’t be the only introduction that occurs during “I Am Cait.” As we previously reported E!’s cameras were also there to document the exact moment Kylie Jenner was introduced to Caitlyn. The 17-year-old initially met Caitlyn over FaceTime, but later had a formal meeting at her home. In an effort to show her support, Kylie brought her father, whom she still calls “daddy,” teal extensions from her hair line. The two then bonded as Kylie helped her to put them in her hair.
“I Am Cait” premieres Sunday, July 26 at 8 p.m. EDT. Check out the latest clip from the series below.
