'I Am Not Your Servant:' Flight Attendant Yells At Passenger During Argument Midair [Video]
A verbal spat between a flight attendant and a passenger was captured midair on a flight that was reportedly traveling from Turkey to India.
The video of the altercation was shared online, which showed the flight attendant yelling, "I am not your servant" before another crew member intervened and escorted her away.
The argument, which began with an issue about the in-flight meals, took place aboard an IndiGo airlines flight that took off from Istanbul and was headed to Delhi, the Hindustan Times reported.
The passenger asked for a sandwich and began yelling at an air hostess when she said she would check if it was available on the flight, according to the airline. When the air hostess started crying, another flight attendant stepped in and was captured arguing with the passenger.
"You are pointing finger at me and yelling at me. My crew is crying because of you," the flight attendant told the passenger, as quoted by NDTV. "Please try to understand, there is a cart and counted meals are uplifted (on the plane) ... "
"Why are you yelling?" the passenger interrupted her.
"Because you are yelling on us," the flight attendant replied.
"I am sorry but you cannot talk to the crew like that," the air hostess added. "I am peacefully listening to you with all due respect but you have to respect the crew as well."
When the passenger asked how he disrespected the crew, the flight attendant referred to his yelling and finger-pointing.
"Shut up," the man then yelled at her.
"You shut up," the flight attendant yelled back and went on to say, "I am not your servant."
The viral video ended with a fellow crew member intervening and ushering the agitated flight attendant away.
IndiGo airlines released a statement in light of the incident.
"We are aware of the incident that took place on flight 6E 12 from Istanbul to Delhi on December 16, 2022. The issue was related to meals chosen by certain passengers traveling via a codeshare connection," read the statement.
