  • A 93-year-old made one of the most hilarious pleas amid lockdown
  • She raised a whiteboard on her window where 4 words were written
  • "I need more beer," was the message, while another hand was holding a beer can

A 93-year-old's plea for more beer from her window amid the lockdown went viral. The plea was written on a whiteboard in bold black letters - "I NEED MORE BEER!!"

The lady who made the beer plea was Olive Veronesi. With a Coors Light can in one hand, the lovely 93-year-old lifted the whiteboard in the other.

As per KDKA's report, a relative of Veronesi was the one who took the photo. It was then posted on Facebook and has already gotten thousands of likes.

After the photo was posted, the old lady revealed that she received lots of offers from people wanting to get her more beer. Regarding the offers she received, Veronesi described it as "nice, something for a young lady."

Since Veronesi is already an elderly, she is one of those who are deemed high-risk. They are strictly advised to stay at home.

High-Risk Individuals Stay at Home

Some relatives of high-risk elderly individuals would keep cupboards well-stocked with drinks. This way, the elderly will always have something within reach and would not think of venturing out to buy from the grocery store.

As per the World Health Organization, coronavirus can lead to more severe illness if an elderly contract it. Other groups deemed high-risk include those with diabetes, hypertension, respiratory, and cardiovascular ailments.

Other Light Stories

Amid the pandemic, Veronesi's case was not the only "light side." Stories of ordinary people taking to social media to bring a little cheer amid the pandemic abound.

There's a teacher, Kathleen McColaugh, who made a comical video of her asking for help from her students. The teacher was saying that they were all having a great time and then lifting up a placard saying, "They are here. They can hear me."

She said that her boys were 18, 20, and 22, and she and her husband have also been married for 25 years, and she's overwhelmed with the appreciation. While saying this, she held up a placard saying, "They do nothing to help."

The video was shared by one of Kathleen's students, Eli Aquino. She took to TikTok, and since then, the video has garnered hundreds of comments and received so many likes.
