Ian Somerhalder Addresses Nikki Reed Dating Rumors As Nina Dobrev Posts Cryptic Messages Online

Nina Dobrev may not be too thrilled that her ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder is reportedly dating her friend, fellow actress Nikki Reed. The apparent new couple were seen jogging together in California on Sunday, before heading to a farmer’s market.

The two looked quite happy, and appeared to be more than just friends. Somerhalder even rested his chin on Reed's shoulder at one point, and wrapped his arm around her neck as she held on to him.

Now, Dobrev is posting cryptic messages on WhoSay that may be about this blossoming relationship. This week, her first WhoSay post read, “Beauty is the opposite of perfection. It’s about confidence, charisma, and character.” The 25-year-old actress then posted the message, “You cannot hang out with negative people and expect to live a positive life.”

Meanwhile, Somerhalder addressed his rumored new romance. The 35-year-old wrote on Instagram in a post that has since been deleted, ““Ummm, everyone- I hate to break it to you but… You have zero clue what really goes on in other peoples’ lives. It does you or anyone else any good at all to project negative energy out there.

"There is no harm here, I ask you to back off with your negativity, focus that energy elsewhere In a positive manner and let people live their lives. It’s only fair. Thank you and good night.”

As "Vampire Diaries" fans know, Somerhalder was dating his co-star Dobrev for three years before splitting in May 2013. Since their split, Dobrev has been linked to a handful of celebrities, such as Derek Hough, Liam Hemsworth, Chris Evans and even another “Vampire Diaries” co-star, Michael Trevino.

Somerhalder also was recently linked to “American Idol” alum Molly Swenson. The pair was allegedly spotted holding hands at an event in April, but Swenson shot down the romance rumors on Twitter.
