Ian Somerhalder Reveals Ritual For Recharging His Body And Soul

“The Vampire Diaries” may have ended, but Ian Somerhalder’s work is not done yet. He has been busy with other acting projects and starting his own liquor business. The actor recently shared how he tries to unwind and relax, and get away from the daily stresses of life.

Somerhalder went horseback riding early in the morning before sunrise recently. He shared a picture of the horse he took to watch the sunrise over the Pacific Ocean on his Instagram page.

“The level of beauty and love in these creatures is so vast it’s out of this world,” Somerhalder wrote in the online post. He explained that going horseback riding is one of things he does to take a break and focus on himself.

Somerhalder explained that every individual needs his/her own ritual to rejuvenate the body and the soul and become the “best versions of ourselves.” For “The Vampire Diaries” actor, the ritual is to spend time with horses. In his post, he said that spending time with horses is never a waste of time, even when he doesn’t have a lot of time to spare.

After completing the vampire series, Somerhalder has been busy with “Time Framed” and the TV series “V-Wars.” The actor said that the acting work and building his companies has put “immense pressure and stress” on him, but the horse he shared a photo of apparently reminds him to take a break from his hectic schedule and get some time for himself.

Last month, Somerhalder announced that he has teamed up with Paul Wesley for a new bourbon brand, US Magazine reported. Apart from delivering a great product, the new company also promises to help fight climate change.

Somerhalder also has the added responsibilities of being a father to his 2-year-old daughter Bodhi. His family appears to be close to nature. Nikki Reed has said that she wants their daughter to grow up to become a farmer, US Magazine reported.
