Idaho Woman's Luck Strikes Twice With Back-To-Back Lottery Winners
Seems like there’s a good bit of luck in the state of Idaho because another person has won the lottery more than once, and this time, back to back.
Orlene Peterson from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, came out a big winner twice in late January when she won $200,000 from Scratch Game Grand Fortune one day and $300,000 from Scratch Game Comin’ in Hot the next.
This was around the same time Bryan Moss, from the Bosie-suburb Meridian, Idaho, won the lottery for the sixth time and took home $250,000.
Peterson bought her tickets from two different stores in two different towns, one from Albertsons in Hayden and the other from Fred Meyer in Coeur d’Alene.
“I had bought some tickets already, then had $20 left over, so I thought what the heck, I’ll get a Grand Fortune ticket,” Peterson said as she described her first winning lottery ticket purchase to the Idaho Lottery.
“When I scanned the ticket, it said I had to contact the Idaho Lottery for my winnings. That had never happened before when I was playing. I checked it and it was a $200,000 winner. I couldn’t believe it,” she continued.
Since Albertsons and Fred Meyer sold the winning tickets, they’ll both receive $20,000 from the Idaho Lottery.
The odds of winning the lottery once in Idaho is about 1 in 282.5 million, according to the Idaho Lottery website.
