Iliza Shlesinger Welcomes Baby Girl, Jokes About Giving Birth Late At Night [Photos]
Comedian Iliza Shlesinger welcomed a baby girl with her husband Noah Galuten last week. And the new mom could not hide her happiness as she shared a series of photos of her daughter, Noah Galuten, on her Instagram page Tuesday.
The late-night show host joked that she gave birth to the baby late at night because "that is when I work."
The first photo, which was clicked from the hospital, shows the newborn in a cradle, while Shlesinger takes a huge bite off a Bay Cities Godmother's sandwich. The baby's face is not visible in the image.
In the second photo, the 38-year-old comedian shared the moment before giving birth. "I'm in active labor and I can't stop thinking about all the problems with 'And Just Like That,'" she wrote referring to a comedy-drama.
In the next photo, the comedian could be seen holding her dog. Her husband was standing next to her caressing the baby. The next few photos showed the couple spending some quality time with the baby after returning from the hospital.
"I finally have my very own #babyleg," she captioned the photos. "I gave birth late at night (because that's when I work) and there was no food available at 1.30 a.m. Noah went to a vending machine and came back with chips and cookies, basically prison commissary food. I think he paid for them in cigarettes. So this is me finally getting to eat a Bay Cities Godmother at noon the next day."
Shlesinger admitted that she was unaware that this sandwich-eating photo was taken. "Vaginal delivery mothers knows why I'm eating sitting side saddle wearing exclusive Mesh Underwear for SS22," she wrote.
The comedian noted that she wanted to give birth before her "Back In Action" tour in February. It would give her enough time to spend with the newborn.
"27 hours of labor, 75 minutes of power pushing (they said I had 4 hours and I was like 'oh no, this ends NOW. Champions do more.') and at 11. 27p.m. on January 13 out came my healthy, strong and beautiful Sierra Mae," she added.
The comments section was flooded with congratulatory messages.
The comedian is all set to start the "Back In Action" tour from Arizona Federal Theatre on Feb. 18. The last show of the tour will be at Mirage, Las Vegas, on Oct. 15.
