India Republic Day 2012: Finnair Flight Attendants Try Bollywood Dancing [VIDEO]
India's Republic Day 2012 got Finnair treatment with an elaborate in-air dance from the flight attendants.
Thursday was India Republic Day 2012, but when passengers boarded the overnight Finnair flight from Helsinki to Delhi they had no idea the flight attendants would surprise them with a Bollywood dance number.
Passengers on Flight 21 watched in shock as the flight attendants paraded around the cabin trying their hardest to perform the Bollywood-style moves to Om shanti Om.
Their comical and endearing performance elicited several cheers and a round of applause from the passengers.
Finnair organized the flash mob to mark India's 63rd Republic Day - a national celebration that honors when India became an independent Republic on Jan. 26, 1950. Republic Day commemorates the date on which the Constitution of India came into force replacing the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India. It's one of India's three national holidays.
The Finnish airline captured the event on video and quickly posted it to its YouTube page. In less than 24 hours, the video garnered over 130,000 hits.
The surprise dance on Finnair is just the latest in a series of dancing flight attendants videos to hit the Web. The most popular featured Cebu Pacific flight attendance who danced their way through safety demonstrations last fall.
