An Indiana teen was gunned down while trying to sell his Xbox.

The incident occurred on Thursday when 16-year-old Johnny Peluyera went with his father to sell his Xbox off. Peluyera had posted about the Xbox using an online sales app and was contacted by a potential buyer. The pair then arranged to meet on Thursday in Gary, Indiana, and Peluyera’s father drove him to the meeting spot.

When the pair met up with the men who had expressed interest, Peluyera’s father felt something was quite right. His suspicions were proven correct when he spotted a gun on one of the men’s person. He told his son to run back to the car, prompting the gunman to pull out his weapon and fire. Peluyera was shot in the back before reaching the car and was pronounced dead not long after. Peluyera’s father was not harmed during the confrontation.

“I just completely don’t understand,” Peluyera’s mother, Kelly Arroyo, told CBS affiliate WTVR. “I don’t understand how somebody, over an Xbox, can take somebody’s life.” She also said that he only just got his driver’s license and was saving up to by a Trans Am.

The two men responsible fled the scene before local police arrived. They believe the pair are also Gary natives, like Peluyera, and have been asking for any information that could lead to an arrest.
