Inside Beyoncé And Jay-Z's $88 Million 2-Acre Bel Air House
International singer-songwriter Beyoncé and husband rapper Jay-Z’s $88 million Bel Air mansion is nothing short of magnificent.
The modern mansion that features four pools and a helipad is one of the most expensive real estate deals in the L.A. County. The two most influential artists settled down in the mansion in August 2017, after renting around L.A. homes for years.
The Blue Jay Way home, at 30,000 square feet, is a take on the area’s iconic mid-century modern ambiance. With floor-to-ceiling glass-walled common areas that allow access to the beautiful panoramic view, the house is one sight to see. The glass doors and windows are also reportedly bulletproof.
The 2-acre Bel-Air compound sits with eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. The mansion is also complete with a full basketball court, a recording studio, separate staff quarters, and a garage space that fits 15 vehicles as well as a motor court and an area for staff parking
The astounding L.A. mansion was developed by Irish billionaire and property investor Paddy McKillen’s son, Dean McKillen. McKillen purchased the property through a corporate entity for $15 million in 2015.
Architectural maestro Paul McClean designed the home, which carried an asking price of $135 million after four years before settling on Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s $88 million offer.
According to public records, the power couple, who’s combined net worth is reportedly at $1.16 billion, purchased the mansion through blind trusts. They now have a colossal $52.8 million mortgage through Goldman Sachs. The couple’s monthly payment is at $149,600.
Public records also showed that in October 2017, Beyoncé and Jay-Z aren’t done with spending money on the home. At $750,000, the couple has taken out one permit to add a living space below the pool as well as a permit to install a backup generator.
Their next door neighbors, who have tried relentlessly to sell their home since 2015, welcomed the couple saying that they are their “wet dream.”
Vine creator Landon Romano revealed in a tweet that he was 95 percent sure he just passed by Beyoncé’s home in Bel Air and commented on the amount of cameras around the property.
“...the air literally smells like bad bitch air. I feel refreshed,” Romano further stated.
