Inside Donald, Ivana Trump's Former Connecticut Mansion Now Worth $32 Million

Five years after their marriage, in 1982, former President Donald Trump and his then-wife Ivana Trump bought their first mansion which lies on a 20,000-square feet peninsula in Greenwich, Connecticut.

The former couple bought the property which has eight bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, for $4 million. Now, it is worth $32 million.

Ivana was working to remodel the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan that Donald had purchased in the early 1980s when she designed the home. This explains why some materials in the Connecticut compound and the Plaza are the same.

Originally built in 1939 for Robert Hillas, president of the Super Heater Company in New York City, the mansion is “dripping in gold leaf, elegant chandeliers and crown moldings,” the South China Morning Post said of the property.

When the two broke up and divorced in 1992, after 15 years of marriage, Ivana won the Georgian colonial estate in the divorce settlement.

She also walked away with $25 million and $650,000 in child support for their children: Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric. In 1998, Ivana sold the home for $15 million.

The new owners added tennis courts, an indoor lap pool and guest quarters to the home.

Other features of the mansion include a three-story rotunda foyer with a grand staircase and several formal living rooms.

The home boasts views of the Long Island Sound. It has an outdoor pool, a home theater, a sauna and three fully equipped staff apartments.

Outdoor features also include multiple patios and terraces.

The estate went up for sale initially for $54 million in 2015. It was dropped to $45 million in 2018.

The owner again reduced it to $38.5 million. In 2021, the price came down to $32 million.

Still, no one has bought the property. It was taken off the market in April. As per New York Post, renovations are expected to take place before it lists again.

Ivana died on July 14 in her longtime Upper East Side Manhattan townhouse. She was 73.
