Most colleges started their first day earlier this month after a fun-filled summer and many students may need a bit of inspiration heading back to their school schedules. Former First Lady Michelle Obama provided support to students and schools during her White House tenure. She spoke at the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards in 2016 and commended the power education has to change lives. She gifted the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program awards to thirteen educational programs at a ceremony held in the White House’s East Room.
