Instagram Launches Android Sign-Up Page, But No Clues About Release Date Yet

One of the top applications of the iPhone, Instagram, is gearing up to make a splash on Android. We knew it was just a matter of time before the developers were forced to bring this great picture editing/sharing tool to Android, as the demand for it to be ported was great.

Instagram became a hit on the iPhone with its over a million users who take and share images on a regular basis. So an Android app was a matter of time.

We understand that registrations are now open for Android users. Those who sign up with their email addresses will be the first in line to get a shot at Instagram when it is released in beta not too long from now.

After submitting your information in the Instagram sign up page , all you have to do is wait for Instagram to be released. Unfortunately, the sign up page does not give a date as to when we should expect Instagram to be released, but we are certain it won't be far away.

CEO Kevin Systrom, revealed that the company only has 2 persons working on the Android version of Instagram. It would be wise to add a few more if it wants to get Instagram into the Google Play marketplace sooner rather than later. Instagram might be the best in its class on the iPhone, but it is coming to Android where there are multiple applications that are doing the same thing as Instagram, so it needs to stand out or see all this hype go to waste.

You must be 13 years or older to sign up. So how about getting to it so you can be one of the first few Android users to get a test drive on Instagram?
