There is no denying that the Harry Potter franchise is one of the most famous and influential franchises in modern pop culture.

On International Harry Potter Day, Potterheads all over the world can celebrate the magical world and the story that continues to make a mark in people's lives today.

It was in 2012 when Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron declared May 2 International Harry Potter Day. The holiday is observed on May 2 as this is the date of the Battle of Hogwarts, when dark wizard Lord Voldemort finally met his end.

International Harry Potter Day celebrates the series and its significant impact.

On this day, fans of the series can celebrate by getting together with their fellow Potterheads, whether it's for a Harry Potter movie marathon or to simply talk about all the things they love about the series and the wizarding world.

Some may also attend events that are available in their area or perhaps unique Harry Potter-themed experiences. In London, for instance, the "Tour for Muggles" takes participants to filming locations and even some of the places that inspired some of the well-known places in the series. National Today also recommends holding a fun Harry Potter-themed trivia night or celebrating by simply reading your favorite book in the series.
