Intoxicated Woman Tried Stabbing Boyfriend With Kitchen Knife For Refusing Sex

A Texas kindergarten teacher tried to stab her boyfriend after he refused sex, court records obtained Tuesday stated.

Yamile Uribe, 41, a kindergarten teacher at Lagos Elementary School in Manor, was charged with “aggravated assault with a deadly weapon” Monday.

Manor Police responded to a disturbance call in the area Sunday night. When officers reached Uribe’s apartment, her boyfriend said that she had "lost it" and attacked him with a knife following which she locked herself in the bedroom.

Police found a 12-inch knife on the floor during the search while Uribe was sleeping in the bedroom upstair. The woman was taken into custody after she woke up, the Texarkana Gazette reported.

During police interrogation, Uribe’s 36-year-old boyfriend, who has not been identified, said the two started arguing after having a few drinks. The argument began after he refused to have sex with her. She started abusing him, then charged at him after picking up a knife from the kitchen, in an attempt to stab him. He managed to escape by rolling over. The knife narrowly missed him. She then went to the bedroom and fell asleep.

A court administrator said Uribe was booked into Travis County Jail on Monday and released a few hours later on $15,000 bail.

Post the incident, Scott Thomas, a Manor school district spokesman said, "Ms. Uribe will not be in class until we've followed district protocol and have conducted our own individual investigation.”

The investigation was ongoing.

In a similar incident in January this year, a Philadelphia court heard that a 22-year-old student was killed for refusing a sexual favor. Assistant District Attorney Jason Grenell told the court that 30-year-old Joshua Hupperterz met the victim, Jenna Burleigh, at a bar in 2017 after which they decided on having consensual sex. Hupperterz killed Grenell after she rebuffed from the decision. He then managed to take the body out of his apartment and dumped it at his grandmother's house. Police found the body a few days later.
