When it comes to Apple’s next flagship phone, unofficially being referred to as the iPhone 11, the new triple-camera system at the back is considered to be the most controversial feature based on leaks from reliable Apple insiders.

The new feature is considered both boon and bane for the upcoming iOS smartphone. The triple-camera system is highlighted by a large, square camera hump that basically sections in the new lenses of the phone. Because of this, the setup seems to be affecting the general look of the iPhone which many Apple analysts have described as “ugly.”

Despite the setup, the triple-camera system will bring new dynamics on the iPhone’s camera capabilities. The triple-camera system is a sophisticated function, to begin with, and is reported to have a 12MP wide-angle lens along with the 12MP main lens plus a telephoto lens on the iPhone XS range. The flash is also expected to be brighter and will even have a “smart frame” function that aims to adjust distorted photos using extra image details taken using other camera lenses.

Now, could there be a possibility that the square hump has been redesigned to offer a more elegant option for the triple-camera module? Instead of a square, the camera lens will be designed and placed in one sleek line. The setup is arguably more minimalist and definitely doesn’t take up most of the iPhone’s back.

However, this design is only a concept design by Arun Maini who said that he borrowed some design concepts from the iPad Pro and MacBooks to come up with what looked like a better version of the camera placement.

Ice Universe, a very reliable source of insider Apple news, said that although the design is ideal there is no way that the actual phone could look like it saying that the square hump section is “an irreversible reality.”

What’s more, other leaks also point to the very real possibility that only the square camera setup is true. Supposed iPhone cases from a reliable contractor from China shows that the back will indeed have a square hump. The setup is said to be similar to the upcoming Google Pixel 4.

The triple-camera system seems to be the direction most smartphone producers are aiming for this year. Aside from Apple, Samsung and Huawei seem to be coming up with their own tri-camera offering.
