An iPhone 14 leak revealed that the 2022 Apple device will feature a titanium build with a flat back, a hole-punch camera and rounded volume buttons.
Known Apple leaker John Prosser posted a Twitter update on Sept. 8, seemingly teasing Apple’s flagship device for 2022. With only a few days left before the iPhone 13 launches, Prosser gave his audience a glimpse of what the iPhone 14 could look like.
The Tweet said, “in 20 minutes, you will see iPhone 14.” Twenty minutes later, Prosser uploaded a video on his YouTube channel, Front Page Tech.
The video featured the alleged iPhone 14 and showcased some of its features. In the video, Prosser said it is safe to say that Apple will retain the Face ID for the next iPhone lineup.
He added that the device will have a flat back on a titanium build. From the current front notch design, the next iPhone 13 successor will come with a hole-punch camera.
This part of the leak added substance to a March prediction from Ming-Chi Kuo, the Apple analyst. Kuo said that the 2022 iPhone could launch with a punch-hole display.
Apple could also go back to its rounded volume switch design and ditch the current iPhone volume button designs. The design with a flat glass back could be similar to the iPhone 4, XDA Developer reported.
For those expecting Apple to switch to USB Type C or to a completely cordless charging, they may have to wait for another year as the iPhone 14 will come with the currently used lightning port, according to the video.
The leak resulted in iPhone 14 dominating the trend on both Twitter and Google search on Wednesday. With a week away from the iPhone 13 launch, some Apple customers worry that their current devices are quickly becoming outdated.
Others joked about the evolution of iPhone cameras. The cameras become more prominent and bigger as years go by.
The iPhone 14 leak from Prosser earned perplexed tweets and memes. Twitter users creatively expressed how they feel hearing about another iPhone coming a few days away from the iPhone 13 official launch.
Apple did not issue any statement about the iPhone 14 yet, CNET reported.
