iPhone 4S vs HTC One X: Intense Battle on the Cards
The battle between HTC and Apple will be intensified in the coming days, predict smartphone lovers.
HTC, which stole the show at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February with its stunning collection of Android phones like HTC One X, HTC One S and HTC One V, will soon release the One X.
HTC One X is coming to AT&T with some extraordinary features and stunning design and is considered the best in the One series and is expected to give iPhone 4S a tough competition.
iPhone 4S, on the other hand, already owns a cult following. While HTC will release the One X within a few months, Apple is likely to extend its smartphone range with the launch of iPhone 5.
But question now is - which smartphone will get an upper hand, iPhone 4S the HTC One X?
Let's check out how these titans stack against each other.
Size: iPhone 4S comes with a dimension of 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3 mm and weighs 140 grams while HTC One X comes with a dimension of 134.36 x 69.9 x 9.29 mm and weighs only 130 grams.
Display: iPhone 4S touts a 3.4-inch Retina display with LED-backlit IPS TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors and 640 x 960 pixels with 330 ppi pixel density. The HTC One X sports a 4.7-inch super LCD 2 multi-touch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and 312 ppi pixel density.
Display Protection: iPhone 4S comes with Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating on front and back while the HTC phone sports a Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
Processor: Apple iPhone 4S features dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processor with PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU, Apple A5 chipset and 512 MB RAM. But, according to reports from PCMag, the global version of HTC One X will be a quad-core phone with Nvidia's Tegra 3 processor running at 1.5GHz while AT&T's LTE version uses a Qualcomm S4 instead. However, both versions of the HTC One X devices will come with 1GB RAM.
Operating System: iPhone 4S, on the other hand, runs on Apple's latest iOS 5 operating system while HTC One X will run on the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Camera: Apple smartphones sport 8 megapixel rear-facing LED flash cameras with 1080p HD video capture capability. The Apple phone has a VGA camera with 480p video capture capability and video calling over Wi-Fi only.
The HTC One X sports an 8 megapixel camera with five levels of LED flash, automatic focus and recording and playback support for 1080p HD video and has a 1.3 megapixel camera in the front for video calling.
Camera Features: The HTC phone comes with features like geo-tagging, touch focus technologies, back-illuminated sensor (BSI), simultaneous HD video and image recording and video stabilizer features. iPhone 4S, on the other hand, sports Touch focus, geo-tagging, face detection and HDR features.
3G/4G: iPhone 4S gives 14.4 Mbps download speed and 5.8 Mbps upload speed and the Apple smartphone does not support 4G LTE. However, the HTC One X has HSDPA 21 Mbps, HSUPA 5.76 Mbps and support 4G LTE.
WLAN/Bluetooth/USB: iPhone 4S has Bluetooth version 4.0 with A2DP, USB 2.0 version, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Wi-Fi hotspot.HTC One X, on the other hand, will support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot along with Bluetooth 3.0 version with A2DP, EDR, microUSB (MHL) 2.0 version and Computer sync, OTA sync.
Storage: iPhone 4S comes with 16/32/64 GB fixed storage and no microSD card slot. HTC One X, however, will come with 32GB of internal storage and like iPhone 4S, this HTC phone too, lacks expandable memory slot.
Battery: iPhone 4S comes with the standard Li-Po 1432 mAh battery that gives standby time of up to 200 hours in both 2G and 3G and talk time of up to 14 hours in 2G and eight hours in 3G. HTC One X, on the other hand, sports an 1800mAh battery but information on stand-by time and talk time are not released yet.
Additional Features: Apple has packed some amazing features with its latest iPhone. The features include Siri natural language commands and dictation, MicroSIM card, scratch-resistant glass back panel, three-axis gyro, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, iCloud cloud service, Twitter integration, Google Maps, Audio/video player and editor, Image editor, Voice command/dial and TV-out, language support, keyboard support and dictionary support.
HTC One X will have Beats Audio, active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, TV-out (via MHL A/V link), SNS integration, MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player, MP3/eAAC+/WMA/WAV player, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, document viewer/editor, voice memo/dial/commands and predictive text input.
