iPhone 5 launch in October Confirmed by AT&T VP: Report
An AT&T vice president has confirmed to some of his employees that the iPhone 5 will launch in early October this year, according to Boy Genius Report.
For months Apple has been expected to announce the iphone 5 in late September with a release set for early October. According to the BGR Website the AT&T VP told his employees that they needed to prepare their teams as things were going to get extremely busy in the next 35-50 days.
A TiPb blog is the latest to give an exact date for Apple's next smartphone saying it could go on sale Oct.7. n addition, a DigiTimes report citing an unnamed Taiwan-based supply chain maker said that Apple is boosting its total order volume for the iPhones by 12 to 13 percent in the second half of 2011, and it is expecting to make more than 56 million handsets.
The new phone is rumored to have a larger edge to edge screen, support 4g network, have a large touch sensitive home button, a better camera that shoots HD video, a Dual LED flash, more storage, NFC for mobile payments, a faster A5 processor and a new panoramic camera mode. Some have said the phone will have an entirely new design while others say it will keep same design as the iphone 4.
