Rumors about Apple's next generation iPhone, dubbed iPhone 5, is buzzing louder and if they are to be believed, the new smartphone from the technology giant is not only going to be released in September but also it's going to look radically different from iPhone 4.

9to5Mac said it in possession of an actual silicone case made specifically for the new iPhone that matches the recently leaked schematic images that flooded the Internet this week.

The blog also said a tipster had spotted a person, who he thinks could be an Apple employee hunched over a device, which he is quite certain is the yet to be launched iPhone.

According to the tipster, the device was "almost EVO-like” in screen size and though thinner, appeared to be wider than iPhone 4.

"The edges are rounded metal like the edges of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 but could still function as an antenna. The back is a curved/tapered glass or plastic. He couldn’t tell but if he had to guess he’d say glass," 9to5Mac reported.

Another blog Mobile Fun reported that the design for a next-generation iPhone case leaked "from a Chinese case manufacturer" suggests that iPhone 5 could be boasting of a display size of anything between 3.5- to 4-inch. The bigger edge-to-edge display, despite the overall size of the device remaining the same, is possible is "shrinking the bezel such that no space is wasted."

The blog further goes on to state that the new iPhone will revert back to the curvature that was predominant in iPhone 3GS and absent in iPhone 4.

It also means that the back of the device will be metal like in iPhone 3GS and not glass as in iPhone 4.

The redesign, if it's true, will be welcomed by iPhone fans, who faced a nightmare with iPhone 4's 'antennagate' issue.

The physical home button has also been replaced by a "touch-sensitive ovaloid area" which takes up the middle half of the bottom border.

9to5Mac, Cult of Mac, CNet UK and MacRumors echo the same sentiment.

Meanwhile, Wall Street Journal said the new iPhone will sport a thinner look though it did not say whether the device will feature a curved aluminum back. The new device will also be lighter and sport a 8-megapixel camera, it said.

Mac Rumors also chips in by citing a China Times report that says suppliers are getting ready with 400,000 iPhone 5 units that will be released on trial run, with an initial shipment slated at 4 million units. "A mid September launch lines up nicely with current expectations for the iPhone 5 release," Mac Rumors said. The launch is likely at the annual iPod refresh event that Apple holds every September as in June's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple skipped releasing the device. Interestingly, it contradicts an earlier report by DigiTimes which said Taiwan-based notebook maker Pegatron Technology has bagged orders for 15 million units of the next generation iPhone from Apple and is set to start shipping in September of 2011.

The same blog also claims that Apple is prepping its staff for the September launch. Boy Genius Report or BGR adds credence to the rumor by saying AT&T is doing the same. Earlier this month, the head of Verizon, iPhone's only other carrier in the US, also said a release is likely this Fall.

International Business Times or IBTimes also reported that iPhone 5 is likely to be out on September 5.

Not to be outdone, Vietnamese website Tinhte.vn has uploaded photos of a device that it claims is of iPhone 4S, the rumored lower-cost model of the iPhone 4 that reportedly will be launched together with iPhone 5 in September. Tinhte is the same blog that that got ahold of the iPhone 4 ahead of its official launch.
