iPhone Case Manufacturer Otterbox Awaiting 'Let's Talk iPhone' Event Like Others
Anyone thinking leaked images of Otterbox cases gave a hint of what Apple's new iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S are like are mistaken.
The company, known for its sturdy iPhone cases popular with the iPhone smartphones, has been clear that it does not have any confidentiality agreements with Apple or specific information regarding the anticipated new smartphones.
Instead, Otterbox is awaiting Apple's Tuesday Let's talk iPhone event in which the iPhone 5, and perhaps an iPhone 4S, are expected to be unveiled.
The Next iPhone, Otterbox says in an online advertisement the company is running, saying, Of course we're making a case for it! Like everyone else, we're waiting to find out exactly what 'it' is. We're eagerly anticipating the moment Tim Cook steps up to the podium to enlighten and delight us all. Whatever it turns out to be, we'll have iPhone 4s or iPhone 5 cases for you!
In September, some leaked images of Otterbox phone cases showed up on the Internet, and some tried to suggest it was for the iPhone 4S, one of the new models Apple is widely expected to unveil on October 4. The so-called leaked case had a new location for volume buttons.
An Otterbox spokesperson said a banner ad that the company ran on the Internet -- iPhone 4s or iPhone 5? Yes. was designed only to reflect current speculations in the media and among iPhone hopefuls that the Apple will unveil both an iPhone 4S and an iPhone 5 on October 4.
Otterbox said the case images were images of prototype packaging. The company said it is enjoying the speculation like others, but that it is eagerly awaiting the event to find out what it is.
