KEY POINTS

  • The iPhone has the Do Not Disturb feature which plugs the noise that the smartphone could make
  • It has to be set first before it works and can be customized
  • The feature is strict and must be checked to make sure that the smartphone makes a sound again

The Do Not Disturb mode on the iPhone blocks out the smartphone from making any noise. Notifications, music, and any sounds that could come out of your smartphone could be specifically muted. However, muting the whole smartphone would need to change the settings thoroughly.

Do Not Disturb Mode

To access this mode, proceed to the Shortcuts Automations menus that’s just been added to iOS 13 eligible iPhones. The Do Not Disturb mode is just a button away from activating it. Once activated, the iPhone will make less noise and counts an improved version of the Silent mode available for most devices.

More than manually activating this feature, the Do Not Disturb Mode can also be automated where the iPhone activates the feature by itself when set to an alarm, reaching a place, or a lot of other personalized settings.

Mute Everything Or Not As Much

The feature is designed to immediately set every sound setting to 0 in the iPhone which ensures it to be as silent as possible. It’s also possible to set the Do Not Disturb mode’s automated volume modulation from mute to low volumes. This can be set through the Shortcuts main screen in a custom automation setting for the Do Not Disturb mode.

Once the mode has been selected in the Shortcuts, the “Set Volume” slider can be seen and can be set to a low volume if the complete volume mute is not needed.

The Do Not Disturb feature will automatically set the volume levels to as silent as you need it to be. Any ringtones, music, or accidental videos opened will be muted or at a lower volume. No video could suddenly blast your iPhone’s speakers with loud sounds if this feature is on

Strict Feature

Unless scheduled, the Do Not Disturb mode is strict and will curb as much smartphone sound as it can. Make sure to disable it after use as it’s possible to forget the smartphone if it doesn’t make any sound.
