Teen actress Iris Apatow has opened up about the reasons why she fell in love with her boyfriend Ryder Robinson.

"Our families have known each other since we were babies," Iris shared in an exclusive interview with ET. "I've always gone to school with him and I just didn't really pay him any mind."

But the 19-year-old, who is the daughter of Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann, changed her mind about Ryder when her childhood friend "got cuter." The 19-year-old is the son of Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson.

The moms of the teenage sweethearts support the relationship. They even leave left encouraging messages on Ryder's Instagram page when he uploaded a PDA photo with Iris in February. Mann dropped three heart emojis in the comments thread, while Hudson wrote "sweets" with a double heart emoji. Iris' older sister, "Euphoria" actress Maude Apatow, wrote "so cute."

Just a few days after they made their relationship official, Iris took to her Instagram page and posted a sweet photo with Ryder, along with a heart emoji.

Many, including Mann and Hudson, posted positive messages in the comments section. "West Side Story" actress Maddie Ziegler commented, "cuties."

Speaking to ET, Iris described her beau as "wonderful" and highlighted his good qualities.

"He's an angel. We definitely fell towards each other's lives at a good moment. He's very wonderful and I think I'm very lucky to have someone who cares about me like him," she said.

The "Funny People" actress is happy that her family approves of Ryder and says she never dates anyone whom her parents do not approve of because it is "uncomfortable." "It just doesn't work out. It just can't," she added.

Iris' parents will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary this year. Mann said she and Judd are teaching Iris the value of communication in having a successful relationship.

"We gave her, like, 10 books about communication. We told her, 'Read these. Highlight them,'" Judd recalled in the ET interview. Iris quipped, "And then I'd give them back."
