'Iron Man' Star Robert Downey Jr. to be a Dad
It was just a year back we all enjoyed watching Robert Downey Jr. as the high-strung dad in Due Date. The 46-year-old actor is all set to reprise his role as a father. But this time in real life.
The actor's producer wife Susan Levin, 37, is pregnant, and the Oscar-nominated actor is set to become a father for the second time.
Robert and Susan could not be more excited over this news. They can't wait to welcome this new baby into their wonderful family, Downey's spokesman told People magazine.
The baby is due early 2012.
Downey met his second wife Susan on the set of Gothika in 2003 and the couple tied the knot in New York in 2005.
Downey also has a 17-year-old son, Indio Falconer Downey, from his previous marriage with actress Deborah Falconer. The two were married for 11 years before they divorced in 2004. The baby will be Levin's first child.
I think it's wonderful that she's regnant. The baby is due in February. Susan's father, my brother, called me about three weeks ago with the good news. Her parents are over the moon about it. It [doesn't] really matter if it's a boy or a girl. What really matters is that the baby is healthy, Levin's aunt Nancy Miller told America's Star magazine, reports the Daily Mail.
Downey has been acting since the age of five and is known for his performance in movies like Less than Zero and Sherlock Holmes. He received an Academy award nomination for his roles in Chaplin and Tropic Thunder.
He is currently filming his Iron Man role for the upcoming 2012 film The Avengers with Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner.
