“Grey’s Anatomy” alum Isaiah Washington didn’t mince his words when he targeted Katherine Heigl on social media Monday, reigniting their feud from over a decade ago.
The actor took to Twitter with a message aimed at his former “Grey’s Anatomy” co-star in which he called out Heigl for once saying that he should “never be allowed to speak publicly again.”
“The world agreed with her proclamation back then and protested for my job and my head in 65 languages. I wish I was on Twitter in 2007, because I will NEVER stop exercising my free speech,” Washington wrote.
"I've learned that all money ain't good money and no amount of money can replace your dignity and integrity. Some call it living by your principles," he added.
The “Knocked Up” actress has yet to comment on his statement.
The two were embroiled in a feud back in 2007 that stemmed from Heigl’s allegation that Washington hurled a homophobic slur at T.R. Knight, another “Grey’s Anatomy” star, during an on-set disagreement with Patrick Dempsey.
An E! News source said that Heigl is proud that she “stood up” for her co-star. She is also reportedly an advocate of the LGBTQ community.
"Katherine stood up for her close friend twice when Isaiah publicly outed him and called him a f----t. That's hate talk, not free speech," the unnamed insider added.
When asked about the alleged incident, Washington denied ever calling Knight a derogatory word during the 2007 Golden Globe Awards, claiming that it “never happened.” However, Heigl immediately fired back at her co-star, People reported.
“I’m going to be really honest right now, he needs to just not speak in public. Period. I’m sorry, that did not need to be said, I’m not okay with it,” she said at the time.
Within months, ABC announced that Washington would not be returning to “Grey’s Anatomy” for its next season. He also issued an apology to Knight and worked with GLAAD for a PSA.
Speaking about the feud in a 2007 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Washington accused the media of taking the matter in a different direction. He also said that they only had a misunderstanding, which was blown out of proportion.
"I'm merely an actor, a husband, and a father who's trying to do a great job and be very grateful and understanding that I'm in a very privileged position,” Washington said.
