Ivana Trump recently spoke about her current relationship with Donald Trump and addressed the question about her rapport with the latter’s current wife, Melania.
President Donald Trump's first wife Ivana appeared on the U.K. talk show "Loose Women" on Monday and spoke about her family and other topics. During the interview, Ivana's relationship with Donald was discussed.
She admitted that they had a messy split for two years but after their prenuptial agreement was settled, they mended their relationship. In fact, she still speaks with Donald. Host Ruth Langsford asked Ivana if she has cultivated a friendship with Melania.
"No, I speak directly to Mr. President," Ivana said.
"I don't get involved with the ex-wives and his private life. We talk about our children, sometime we talk about the economics but I don't give him really advice. I just tell him what I feel what's right and what's wrong and that is that. But we don't talk about the ex-wives."
Host Jane Moore chimed in, adding "current wife" with a laugh.
When asked if she already met Melania, Ivana said she did. The host then asked if Melania is doing a good job as the First Lady since there is a lot of positive publicity about her.
"I am not sure," Ivana answered. "She is very quiet, and she doesn't really go to too many places. She goes to stuff when she has to go, but she's quiet."
In 2017, Ivana made headlines after she told ABC News that she's the president's first wife and, apparently, the first lady in his life.
"I have the direct number to White House but I don't really want to call him there because Melania is there and I don't really want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I'm basically first Trump wife, okay? I'm first lady, okay?" she said while laughing.
Melania's spokeswoman responded to these remarks and said there was no "clear substance" to Ivana's statement and deemed it "attention-seeking and self-service noise."
Aside from Melania, Ivana also talked about her daughter, Ivanka. For her, the First Daughter has a bright future in politics. She believes that Ivanka could be the first woman president of the United States. Donald shares the same confidence about Ivanka joining the presidential race and winning it.
“If she ever wanted to run for president, I think she’d be very, very hard to beat,” Trump said of his daughter.
