Ivanka Could Run For President In 15 Years, Says Ivana Trump
A book written by President Donald Trump’s first wife Ivana Trump throws light on the 71-year-old Republican’s life, their divorce, his second marriage, and their daughter Ivanka Trump. The book has not yet been published, however, a copy of the same has been obtained by the Associated Press.
According to a report by Fox News, Ivana, in her book “Raising Trump” wrote that she wouldn’t be surprised if Ivanka ran for the presidency in 15 years.
“Maybe in fifteen years, she could run for president?” she wrote. Ivana also wrote about what her title would be if Ivanka were to become the U.S. president.
“First Lady? Holds no appeal for me personally. First Mother? That could work,” she wrote, the Daily Mail reported.
Ivana and Trump were married from 1977 to 1992.
Apart from Ivanka, she also wrote about her ex-husband’s second wife. Mentioning Marla Maples, Ivana wrote: “This young blonde woman approached me out of the blue and said I'm Marla and I love your husband. Do you? 'I said, get lost. I love my husband. It was unladylike but I was in shock.”
Writing about how she felt when she discovered her husband’s affair with Maples, Ivana mentioned: “I can only shake my head at how it insane it was. I couldn't turn on the television without hearing my name.”
In most part of the book, Ivana wrote about how she spent her childhood in Europe, her modeling career, her marriage to Trump and their divorce.
She also wrote about how she first met Trump at a restaurant in Manhattan and how he paid the bill through a cheque and then offered to drop Ivana home in his giant Cadillac. “My instincts told me that Donald was smart and funny - an all-America good guy,” Ivana wrote.
In an interview with CBS News reporter Jim Axelrod this week, Ivana said the president offered her to become the U.S. ambassador to the Czech Republic.
“Donald told me. He said Ivana, if you want it, I give it to you. But I like my freedom. I like to do what I want to do, go wherever I want to go with whomever I want to go. And I can afford my lifestyle. Okay, why would I go and say bye-bye to Miami in the winter, bye-bye to Saint-Tropez in the summer, and bye-bye to spring and fall in New York? I have a perfect life,” she said.
She also said that she often encouraged the president to use Twitter to communicate with the public.
“I said 'I think you should tweet. It's a new way, a new technology. And if you want to get your words across rightly, without telling The New York Times, which is going to twist every single word of yours, this is how you get your message out,” she recalled telling Trump.
Ivana also said she and Trump speak regularly with each other.
Not only Ivana, her children Ivanka, Eric, and Donald Trump Jr. too contributed to the book. "Raising Trump" is set to be published next week.
