Ivanka Trump Called ‘Privileged’ After Tweeting ‘Room Campout’ Idea With Kids Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Ivanka Trump recently sparked outrage after she gave an insensitive suggestion on how parents and kids could spend their time at home amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“Staying at home today with kids? Plan living room camp out. Throw a bedsheet over some taped together brooms. Plan a menu and pack sandwiches, salads (s’ mores optional). A fun activity that also brings the family together for a meal. Share your ideas and use the hashtag #TogetherApart,” she tweeted.

Donald Trump and Ivana Trump’s daughter included a photo of herself with her two children camping out in their garden. But instead of encouraging people to follow her idea, the first daughter received backlash and was called privileged by her critics.

“Congratulations on being rich and being married to a guy actually profiting off this catastrophe. There are actually people suffering. Without enough food. Without nannies or cooks or cleaning people to help with the kids. Who are forced to work or risk losing their job/business,” Twitter user @lifesafeast said.

“Who took the photo? The same person who built the tent made the sandwiches, and is cooking the smores,” the same Twitter user wrote.

“Yeah, no doubt anyone who was recently laid off is really interested in building sheet tents while they try to figure out how to let their family know they don’t know how to buy food, or pay their rent, electricity and water bills… #TogetherApart,” Twitter user @acouvis said.

“Another Trump family member giving us hints on how to enjoy their husband’s incompetence from their snotty privileged perches. Yesterday, Ivanka the daughter/wife had us building tents from sheets and making smores with kids,” Twitter user @FeralelFeroz said.
